I need to know what goes inside the hole that holds the sprocket assembly together. When It was purchased it had wire wrapped around it. My bike is a ~71 roadster 2 if that helps any. Pics:   |

A roll pin, the spring steel type
That design was discontinued by Rupp in mid 71 due to roll pin failures. The replacement kit and all 72 and later bikes were built with a keyway cut in jackshaft and sprocket and used a nut to retain the sprockets

So I guess I was on the right track. I purchased a few roll pins for it earlier but none fit properly. Do you know what size I need? Any links would be much appreciated. ;D
