My HS40 has no bowl. Instead it has a nearly flat plate that houses a diaphragm. The plate is stamped "Ladson Power Products......Grafton, Wis."
There are no numbers and a quick Google doesn't look promising.
Is there anyone out there who has found a source for replacement diaphragms?

Jim, The early model Tecumseh/Lauson engine used a diaphram carb. The replacement diaphrams are readily available at a Tecumseh dealer of lawn and garden equipment. Your Google search probably didn't fair well because the name of the company is Lauson and if you typed Ladson, it may not have recognized the name. Just take the engine spec number HS40- and the serial number that follows the spec number to your local small engine repair or Tecumseh dealer and they can get you fixed up. Bill
