Hey guys - just got a Roadster 2 from the wife's parents, it had been sitting the barn for 15 years but it still runs and is in pretty decent shape. I don't know that much about Rupps but I'd like to bring it back to it's original condition.
Anyone have any tips on how to identify the particular model and year? Also any thoughts on how to ensure the engine is original? Grandpa insists that its never seen the repair shop but after more than 30 years his memory could be failing him.
Also, any references for paint codes if they're out there. I think I'll restore the original red, want to make sure I get the correct shade.
I'm really looking forward to this restoration, by next spring I want to ride circles around the neighborhood rug-rats and their pretty little mopeds....
Thx - Carmental

Well if you are daring enough to unsnap the seat from the seat pan, there should hopefully be a sticker. On that sticker it sohuld have the serial number and within it i believe it should start with a number and that should b the year it was made. i.e. 1= 1971. And the model i thought you already had it? With the paint code you will probably have to wait on black widows reply... plus he will probably correct me on if it starts or ends... im pretty sure it starts... been awhile since i've looked under the seat.
Hope this helps.
